APAF was founded in 2010 by Soraya Zattar Mouawad and got its official approval in 2010. Our Lebanese Registration Number is 7634/2011.
APAF is a network of Lebanese and international animal lovers who rescue lost or abandoned pets and offer them a second chance at life. We provide them with the necessary medical and emotional care until we are able to place them in a suitable and loving home.
Our goal is to find a loving family to all the animals we rescue while simultaneously raising awareness on the plight of all animals in Lebanon.
We believe that the most sustainable way of spreading this awareness is through the country’s young generations whom we teach to love all animals and to treat them like living beings.
We also hope to eradicate widespread social misconceptions in Lebanon – that categorize animals as dangerous, disease ridden and useless – through education and informed responsiveness in schools, universities and other social circles.
APAF is a non-profit organization that functions solely on a volunteer basis. We provide all animal lovers with an online forum where they can express their concerns on the fate of animals, and spread their message of love, tolerance and non-cruelty in Lebanon and the world.
